Fitness At Any Age:
Age is most definitely a state of mind. I am not denying that things happens as one gets older, but I believe that you can still do your best to get or stay in shape. Think of Sylvester Stallone in the latest ‘Rocky’. My god, if my husband looks like that at 60 I think I’ll melt! Seeing him reminds me that anything is possible as long as you try. Unfortunately, it also reminds me that you don’t see too may fit people, young or old, in this country.
Fit Over 40 is a collection of the stories of 52 people, between 40-70, who are now in the best shape of their lives. I am not talking- they like to walk every day and still have a little tummy pooch. That’s not a fitness lifestyle. I am talking about people who do what any 20 year old does; they hit the gym several times a week, are low body fat and toned/muscular. They all have different backgrounds, so it’s easier to relate to them.
This is a creation of Jon Benson and it is co-authored by Tom Venuto, the author of the best selling ebook on the Net-Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle. The both contribute to the book. Jon tells his story and Tom shares his training secrets.
One of the things that concerned me , when I read the sales letter (for those of you who don’t know, that is just a marketing term for the letter or explanation of the product that the creator of the product wrote) was that I thought that it was great that you got to hear all these people’s stories, but what about a plan? Well, it doesn’t just tell their stories, it gives the details on how they got their results, which includes their training and eating programs. I have had many people ask me what I did to get into shape, so I understand the need for people to see results and need a plan.
There is a section in the book on ‘The principles Of Inner Transformation’, which is a ‘mindpower’ mumbojumbo. . I like Jon’s products, that is why I review them, but, (I will put this as delicately as possible): I am all for practical motivation. IE: Telling someone that changing their diet one day at a time is the way to go is practical motivation. In fact, my newsletters are full of that kind of motivation. I don’t agree, however with ‘mental empowerment’. If you get the book, you’ll understand. But, I think that a person can still get a lot out of the book. You gotta take the good with the bad. Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water.

One of my favorite things about this book is the variety of peoples experiences. My favorite saying is, “To each, his own”. What works for one person may not, probably will not, work for another. I know that I have learned different things from different people. And I seldom agree with all of what one person says. The great this about this is that you don’t have to agree. You can ignore anything that you don’t like. You could, for instance, take an element of one persons training program and mix it with an element of another role models. This way, you can discover what works for you and what doesn’t.
I don’t like ebooks. Unfortunately, if you want a good fitness/nutrition product online, it will be in an ebook from. The positive is that you get it right away, but there are a few negatives. Jon now offers Fit Over 40 in a hard copy version.
There are now two packages to choose from: 1) The regular book (only in ebook format) or 2) The book in hard copy and in ebook format, 30 minute motivational Mp3 audios and Quick Start Fitness CD. You’d think that the second option would be a lot more expensive, but it’s not. I know that many more people buy it, clearly because you get more for your money.
-Works for anyone at any age.
-Offers a versatility that other books don’t offer. You can pick and choose from different diet plans and workout plans.
-You won’t be left hanging. Jon’s a good guy who will answer your questions.
-Many people over 40 look for anti aging products. Well, this is a healthy way to look and feel much younger.
-This book will not tell you exactly what to do. These stories are give you practical plans, but it’s up to you to decide what you need to do for yourself.
I see this as a tool that works for anyone at any age. But, if you’re over 40 and need to see visual results and be stimulated to do something check out Fit Over 40!
