Waiting for test results is nasty, dreadful and nerve-wracking. The panic and anxiousness that can set in after a diagnosis can be psychologically crippling. What to do? Your nervous system, blood flow & dynamic system can use some help getting back from the edge of the cliff and into a more balanced place. Use the following three tools to help your nerves, stress level & jitters move into a rather more rational place inside just a few minutes. You need to use all these tools separately or together and you need to use them as many times a day as you like.
They’re safe, powerful and effective. Tool number one is smooth edges. What? Think about your anxious feelings. Their character is sharpened and jagged, right? This specific tool is to track out smooth, circular curves and avoid pointed edges. You can take out pen and paper and trace circles, ovals, figure eights and loops. Or, you can choose to do it in the air with just your eyes.
You can just let your eyes trace any and all smooth lines in your environment like lampshades, smooth curves and flowing lines. As wacky as this sounds it pulls down anxiety, jitters and anxiety very quickly. Your eye motion has a particularly dynamic control and command over your complete nervous system. Tool number two is water. Really? Yup. Everyone knows that water is excellent for us. We also know we don’t drink enough.
We all know it…but we do not do it, even on a low-stress day, right? Make a wild guess. This isn’t a low-stress time in your life. Get some water. Drink more than you believe you should.
Water is an amazing anxiety-reducer. The trick is, you can’t just know about it. You really have to go drink it. One or two sips here and there during the day (which is very in vogue these days as we carry our bottles around) won’t provide help to you. Feeling stress? Go drink 2 full tumblers of water and give it a couple of minutes.
Notice that your stress level is instantly reduced. The body actually is about 80 p.c water. Do you not think it’s time to top it up with some fresh & clean H2O? Tool number three is your forehead. Am I kidding? Nope. Why is this a big score? The back brain activates under strain and does not permit creative thinking or problem fixing which is done by the forebrain.
Stress really makes us foolish! The solution is to delicately cover your forehead with your hand and think about your problem. Don’t actually try and resolve your problem, just put your attention on it while you hold your forehead. What occurs, because of the gentle touch, is blood comes to the forebrain which allows you access to higher thinking states. It also drops your stress like a rock inside two to five minutes. Even better, this can be done sitting, standing or lying down. You may even do it in public and no one will get bothered.
It’s the classic “Oh My God!” pose that is hard-wired into our nerve system. Ironically, this position also acts as the key to unlock stress quickly from the mind, body & spirit. These 3 tools, used separately or together, can be a great help at any complicated or tough time you may ever go through. Test them out for yourself. They’re straightforward, free and work great under fire.
