Zopiclone is classified as a hypnotic agent or sedative used in the short term treatment of insomnia. It is also sold under the brand names Zimovane, Datolan and Imovane. It will assist patients that have difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep throughout the night. Zopiclone also functions as a muscle relaxant.
Zopiclone is recommended only for short term treatment of insomnia, for periods of up to 4 weeks.

Things to know before taking Zopiclone
Before using Zopiclone, speak to a doctor if you suffer from any of the following:
- kidney and liver problems
- muscle weakness disorder (myasthenia gravis)

When to take Zopiclone?
Zopiclone should only be taken when going to bed. The standard dose is 7.5mg and should be swallowed whole, do not chew the tablet. Ensure you sleep or at least rest for 7 hours after taking the pill. Do not try to drive, work or be active before the 7 hours as your motor skills will be impaired and you could be at risk.
